How to Copy Text From an Image
When text is part of an image, it cannot be highlighted like ordinary web text. OCR identifies the characters so you can copy the result, make edits, or download it as a text file.
When this is useful
- Copying a quote or caption embedded in an image.
- Reusing text from a screenshot without retyping it.
- Turning an image-only document into editable notes.
How to get better results
- Start with a clean crop containing only the text you want to copy.
- Use a larger original image rather than a compressed preview when available.
- Read through the OCR result before copying, especially proper names and numbers.
What to expect
OCR creates editable text, but it does not guarantee the original formatting or perfect recognition. Keep the image available when accuracy matters.
